In the past, cold winter temperatures have usually heralded more stable voltages and higher SNR on my monitors, but in this last week, I have watched the opposite occur.
My normally stable 35dB SNR has suddenly seen several dips below 30dB in the last 3 days.
Downstream levels have been slowly creeping up from +3dB in July (when I last had trouble) to +8dB in November, then yesterday at noon, a sudden jump up to 14dB !! This coincided with a sudden jump in Downstream frequency to the 300MHz band. In 2 years of monitoring, I have never seen my modem use this band, it has always been around 110-140Mhz.
My Upstream levels continue to hover around the 32dB level (back before July it was averaging 43dB).
So far, no connectivity issues, but if the trend continues, it is only a matter of time.
