Since my modem rental fee doubled from $5 to $10, it's time for me to just buy one. I've looked over the approved equipment list linked elsewhere on this forum ( https://forums.mediacomcable.com/index.php?topic=15693.0 ), and did some searches for them. The only one of the three approved D3 EMTAs that I can find for sale is the Arris TM822G, on Amazon for $150. I would rather buy it from Mediacom to avoid any compatibility issues, but my local office has told me repeatedly that Mediacom does not sell any cable modems to customers -- they only rent.
If I buy this:
http://www.amazon.com/Arris-TM822G-Touchstone%C2%AE-Ultra-High-Telephony/dp/B00721TUNS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1421514782&sr=8-1&keywords=Arris+TM822G&pebp=1421514793298&peasin=B00721TUNS
and call to get it provisioned, will it work? I don't want to be out $150 for something that I can't use.
Thanks for any help.
