I'm in North Ames. This evening, I was dealing with loss of Internet service. I power cycled the cable modem, a Netgear CG3000D, and then it would not connect at all. Restarted it again, and then finally got a connection, but was seeing almost 60% packet loss on pings to various sites. Called tech support and spent 30 minutes on the phone, and they scheduled a truck roll for Friday. Digital TV has worked fine through all of this.
Now, a couple of hours later, Internet service is back and working again. Now getting about 1% packet loss. Speedtest says 26 mbps down and 2.5 up. We just got this modem from mediacom about 3 weeks ago after another one quit working. Not sure what's going on, but I would like to have reliable service again.
