I'm trying to find an isp in Springfield, MO that would give me a decent enough latency for gaming and streaming. It's kind of bad that I get 55ms ping to a server 9miles away. Far away pings are pretty trash which sets a disadvantage in almost every game. I tested a coax cable ISP in Texas when I visited and it received a 10ms ping to servers farther than 20miles away. I've lived in 3 different parts of Springfield with Mediacom and all of the pings have been similar. Is there any reason that this ISP is inferior to other cable isps in the latency aspect? An old plant maybe?
