I purchased a used modem the ARRIS SURFboard SB6141 DOCSIS 3.0 and on the cable modem page it keeps showing "offline" and the mediacom tech was unable to get it to come online. From reading around the only way to get a firmware upgrade is through the ISP. Should I call back and have them try that or will they not be able to since it shows "offline"? I put my rented modem back on and all is great but I'd really like the one I bought to work. If it's defective then I'll send it back.
