help with new Technicolor Modem/Router

Hi all. i was a DirecTV subscriber, but used Mediacom for my internet. Just this week I switched over to Mediacom's "triple play' for phone, internet, and TV. The installer installed the multi-room DVR, and a new (for me) Technicolor TC8305C modem. When he left, I realized he'd changed the modem's admin login to something other than admin/password, and hadn't told me what it was. No problem I thought - I'll hard reset the modem. I did, and I was able to get in with "admin/password". I changed the SSID name for the network, set up a new password, and did a couple of other tweaks. Everything was working great. This worked fine for quite a few hours. Two days later I woke up, and "my_name Wifi Network" had returned back to "my_name", which is what the installer had originally set my SSID network name to. So, my first question is how in the world did it get reset back? Is this something Mediacom does remotely? In my old setup, I had a non-wireless modem attached to an Apple Airport Extreme -- so I never had any problems with things getting reset. Second problem -- I can now no longer do the "30-second press of the reset" to do a hard reset. I do it, the modem resets, but the login doesn't go back to "admin/password". Argh! Any idea on what's going on here? Thanks ahead of time! Keith
