I have tried everything I can think of to fix my problems on my end, but nothing seems to work, and of course mediacom just blames it on my equipment. I have tried one of their modems, different routers, new cables, every possible thing I can think of. I constantly monitor my connection using pingplotter and keep having 100% packet loss every 30 seconds to 1 minute, starting at hop 2 and continuing to the last hop. I dont notice the interruption anywhere except for gaming. It creates lag and rubber banding. I have had techs out several times and they escalated to a supervisor and he just pretty much blew me off and said it had to be my equipment because their tablets showed everything was good, even though their online diagnostic shows signal issues, and upstream power on my modem and the mediacom modem shows lower then what their tablets say. Tech just says that the modems just arent accurate in showing that. To my knowledge they have done a new drop to my house, I personally ran a new cable from the connection to my house to my modem. I upgraded to the 500/30 plan for a special price and upgraded all my equipment and it worked great for about 3 months, then all the problems started. I dont know what else to try and im tired of getting charged $30 for a tech to come out and hook up a tablet that I have no clue what it actually does or shows and says well everything is fine, not our fault, give us more money.
now on to the details of everything. I have my laptop hardwired to modem and run all test through it. Have also tried hardwired directly to modem and it shows the same problems. I have my ps4 directly hardwired to modem, and the data from pingplotter correlates to lag when ever i see the packet loss on there.
Hardware- Asus rt-ax88u router to a SB8200 modem, think the modem does need new firmware pushed but dont see why that would cause the problems ive been having.
