Hurricane Sally Update At 4:45 AM CT, Sally made landfall as a Category 2 storm near Gulf Shores, AL and is moving very slowly towards north-northeast. Sally is still a very dangerous storm dumping up to 20+ inches of rain already through the morning and causing major flooding as it moves through our Alabama, Georgia and Florida service areas today and tomorrow. We have widespread outages in Alabama near Gulf Shores and Mobile and in our Florida Panhandle service areas near Pensacola and Milton, currently affecting ~56,000 customers. These are mainly a result of commercial power outages, and storm damage to our transmission lines and equipment. As of this morning, more than 400,000 homes and businesses were reported to be without commercial power in three states. Our network operations center is closely monitoring and tracking these outages and crews are standing by to begin storm assessment and restoration activities as soon as it is safe to travel in each area. Sally is expected to leave extensive damage and we have secured additional crews and equipment to help us with our efforts. As commercial power is restored, many customers will also regain our services. We are committed to helping you stay safe and connected.
