I have been having problems with my net dropping here and there for a little bit now. Seems to steadily be increasing in frequency. I got a new modem today to match my 150mbit plan, and since I have had that one in ive had a couple drops. (2 in the past 3 hours). It seems to bounce back fast, but I feel it should not be doing this and its a pain in the ass! Anyways, I am curious what kinda signal numbers I should be getting? Posted below is what my modem is reading, but I couldnt find what the numbers should be. Hoping to find the problem so I can put an end to it.
Downstream:
___________Power____Signal to Noise
Channel 1: -8.5 dBmV 40.3 dB
Channel 2: -9.1 dBmV 39.9 dB
Channel 3: -9.4 dBmV 39.4 dB
Channel 4: -9.8 dBmV 39.4 dB
Channel 5: -8.5 dBmV 39.9 dB
Channel 6: -8.3 dBmV 39.4 dB
Channel 7: -7.4 dBmV 39.5 dB
Channel 8: -8.5 dBmV 39.4 dB
Upstream:
__________Power______(Is it odd there is no signal to noise on upstream?)
Channel 1: 51.0 dBmV
Channel 2: 0.0 dBmV
Channel 3: 0.0 dBmV
Channel 4: 0.0 dBmV
edit: Also I can not test over 20mbit atm with any server via speedtest.net.
While I know this is not a reliable method, none of them testing over 20 is odd.
another edit ;p :
What is the default login for the modems we get (Cisco DPC3008)? or are we not allowed to view any information beyond the status page? Its not admin admin as the cisco documentation suggests. Guessing mediacom changes it.
