We all enjoy a free speed increase, but it seems the benefit doesn't outweigh the reliability. How do the rest of you feel about reliability over speed?
Last September I was pleased to find out that my speed was getting doubled based on Mediacom's pricing restructure without a change in my monthly payments. Before that I was pretty happy with my 50/5 package as it was for the most part very stable and rarely went down. Well fast forward 6-8 months. I had grown increasingly frustrated with the fact that what my speeds weren't anywhere near as stable as what I was getting before. Then in the spring or very earlier summer my internet connection would just start dropping randomly on a daily basis. Just look at the numerous threads started about this issue, I've been through 4 modems myself in the past 3-4 months. Nothing changed on my end, same equipment/computer setup as I had the previous summer.
It has become apparent that Mediacom has lost it's ability to provide customers with stable reliable service, in under a years time. It may just be my area, but from the look of other posts on here, it's not just where I live. What happened Mediacom? You gained my praise for the 2+ years prior to have it fad away with a poorly managed upgrade and now it's gotten even worse with your newest upgrade.
Here are some graphs to show just how bad it has got in the past year.

Here's some graphs showing my speed changes just for this month (August) so far.

When the 8-channel bonding went in I got the better download speed (albeit inconsistant), however my upload speed dropped. I emailed Chad after that happened and he said I should just wait a few days, I waited 5. Called up and talked to multiple CS reps and as you can see Mediacom pretty much just gave me the middle finger and decreased my download speeds. They said too bad, have to wait for a tech person to come out, in 10 days. 10 days Mediacom?!! After I already gave you 5....so now I wait, not getting close to what I'm paying for; 15 days in total when the tech arrives (and no guarantee of a fix then).
How much you've fallen in 1 years time.
