Does anyone know if Mediacom has daily scheduled reboots or network equipment?
I've been having problems with what seemed like random loss of Internet connection that was only corrected by power cycling my modem and router. All that I could figure out was something was happening overnight. I finally decided to purchased a smart power switch that checks for and logs connection from 4 websites and my router. If it detects that it has lost connection to a certain number of sites for a set time interval (I can't remember the exact setting for each but it is adjustable) it will power cycle one or both outlets. Right now I only have my modem on the switch but within two days I started noticing something interesting in the logs and now after 3 months I definitely have noticed a pattern. Around 2:30 A.M. central every day my Internet connection drops. The time changes slightly each day but is always around 2:30 A.M.
Thoughts?
