Directvnow, Sling and Mediacom

New competition from recently introduced Directvnow for your TV dollar. Hopefully competition like this will depress cable TV rates... Well I can dream. LOL The new $35/month DTVnow service looks interesting as does Sling and other streaming TV channel companies. I wonder if anyone here uses any of these services for their primary TV service? I ponder how much bandwidth a service like this will use for a "normal" 2 tv family over a month? Presently I have a MC Xtream Tivo (100 mbps 1TB cap) promo which will end in 9 months. I am ALWAYS looking to save $$$ as I feel like most people that TV service is too expensive. For instance, I never watch sports yet I am obligated to pay for sport channels I do not watch. Also my promo includes telephone service which I do not have. I even can not get out of paying the phone taxes, even though I do not have a MC phone or phone modem. IOW my promo includes much of what I never use. Fortunately, right now I believe my MC promo has a "reasonable" monthly price, however that will change in 9 months. No way will I pay full Mediacom price for what I have now. FWIW Directv has been begging me to come back to them (they were my previous longtime TV provider) every other week since I left them over a year ago. Their comeback offers can save me much $$, however I do not want to get into another 2 year contract. My present MC Xtream Tivo service has no contract and I like that.... Which is why I am looking to see if a TV channel streaming service is feasible for me. FWIW MC TV service has been "satisfactory" for me after MANY problems that were addressed by MC Techs after I first got the service. I have also been impressed by the help one gets here on this forum from MCChad and the MC Official forum.
