[IL] Slow internet in Illinois

Anybody else seeing really slow speeds in Illinois for the past two nights? My download speed is pathetic. Reboots haven't helped. And the official Mediacom forums are timing out. Signal levels are attached.

I have a new setup with Mediacom with an Askey TCG310. I'd like to set it up to work like my old U-Verse setup, but I don't see an IP pass through like the AT&T modem has. Should i be putting the Edgerouter in the DMZ or use the MAC base Passthrough? Thank you.

I have had the GB service since September. I have yet to get resolution to my issue. I have placed 13 calls into support, SEVERAL tech visits, 3 modems. Only recently have I received any credit (which at this point I guess is better than nothing) I have YET another tech visit scheduled for Monday My uploads are excellent and where they should be. I have been trying to be understanding and patient. Either provide customers with advertised speeds or pull the option until you have it working.

Recently upgraded my 200MBit package to gigabit. So far, I am seeing max 300MBit download speeds using a number of speedtest sites/servers and multiple pieces of equipment with gigabit NICs. Tried multiple Ethernet cables, 5e and 6. Naturally, I've had a number of service calls and we're still trying to figure it out. I've also tried to plug in my Asus AC3100 router to it, but of course if the main one isn't getting full speed I didn't expect much; the wifi performance is better once I sorted any channel overlap, but naturally this too was limited to 200-300 (and many times ~ 100MBit). Also: all the wifi testing (with AC wifi NICs, Windows & Linux) was naturally done on the 5GHz band. If anyone is seeing this AND happens to live in Grinnell: are you seeing > 300Mbit DL speeds in Grinnell? Not a huge chance as we're a fairly small community; wondering what the Des Moines Mediacom Gig customers are seeing, but that'd naturally be differing infrastructure. The techs all say my signals are very strong and nothing wrong is coming up in their diagnostics. For the record, I've been _mostly_ pleased with the service I've received--one tech Monday stayed from 5:30 to 8pm--but I'd really like to get the speeds I'm paying for.

Has anyone tried this yet? I have been using it since yesterday and loading times on sites are noticeable for me. I've used googles dns service for years but if i can get away from them logging everything i do then i will. Not saying cloudfare won't do the same eventually but right now the loading times are good.

[MN] Possible Arris SB8200 Modem Issue

I just upgraded to the 1 Gig internet service and my download speeds have topped out at about 550 Mbps. I have tried connecting 2 different pc's via wired ethernet (Cat 6a) both with internal nics connecting at 1 Gbps directly to my modem (an Arris SB 8200) (and rebooted the modem both times) and don't get any more speed then that. My modem status page shows the below for the OFDM channel - 200 Locked Other 261000000 Hz -0.9 dBmV 36.8 dB 2647855 25 Also getting this error in the modem event log Critical(3) "SYNC Timing Synchronization failure - Failed to acquire QAM/QPSK symbol timing;;CM-MAC=XX;XX:XX:XX CMTS-MAC=00:00:00:00:00:00;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.1 Is it possible that the OFDM channel was never turned on at the node? HBO Go issue with Mediacom

I am wondering if anyone can help me out. I am trying to get HBO Go to work on my samsung smart TV. I have the HBO package with mediacom. I get the code on the tv, then go online(hbogo/activate) and select mediacom as my providor. A window pops up and I enter my username and password. Then a grey box comes up. That is it. Nothing I can enter my code into. I have tried chrome, firefox, internet explorer, my phone, desktop, laptop. All the same result. A grey box that I can do nothing with. HBO said it with an issue with Mediacom, Mediacom said it was an issue with HBO... Any help would be great!

New installation, I need this changed

New installation today, triple play package. Due to some scheduling mishaps, I did not get the TiVo box, or the correct modem to provision phone. I have several issues with the way things are set up currently. First of all, I do not want, nor do I need, mediacom's home networking service. I have a three AP home network that is hard-wired to my personal Linksys router. Obviously, when this interfaces with Mediacom's home networking product, I wind up with a Double NAT situation, which is far less than ideal. The mediacom home networking product was left with a generic username and password. Obviously, this is also less than ideal. When attempting to access the gateway administration page on mediacom's equipment, I was redirected to a webpage that resulted in a server error due to excessive redirects. Phone support repeatedly stated that all I needed to do was plug my router into the modem :uhh: She had a thick accent and had no clue what I was referring to. She led me to a webpage that was supposed to be the router administration page (homewifi.mediacomcable.com), but the username and password she gave did not work, and I was unable to reset the password. I'm pretty unhappy with this setup, and I'm contemplating going back to my Frontier DSL. Anyone know how to access the local administration page for this hitron gateway?

contacting on behalf of my in-laws. Their internet service have been terrible again the last couple days. They had an awful time at the first of the year and got a lot of run-around when they would call support. At one point a tech had come into the house, but nothing got fixed. When my father-in-law had called back, they told him a tech hadn't been there. Anyways, pretty certain they are going to give up their cable and internet services, but thought i'd try and help make something happen. Please contact me, I can get some of the account details to get something started.

Will Mediacom run cable into subdivision if enough homeowners agree to sign up for service? If so how many would it take to convince them to run the line. I know most people in my subdivision would probably pay for better internet speeds.

Just had the video switch on my Tivo for an EAS test, but the video and audio for the test did not play. After the master timeout, the video did switch back to the previous channel.

I am curious if the people that own unifi equipment and are specifically operating 1gb internet with mediacom, what usg version are you using? To give you all some background, my internet has been less than I had hoped for since getting off that ubee crap that mediacom provides. Sure I can do alot more with a usg/us-8-150w than I could earlier but I feel I left around 200mbps on the table when I swapped over. I had a tech out today to check the cabling and he said everything was fine with hardly any/no noise so I am seriously considering swapping over to a usg4 (usg pro) and a full size 1u switch due to speed issues I am seeing. But before I spend more money with ubnt I wanted to get an idea if I will see any significant increases from hopefully someone who has experienced the same issues that I just described. Please keep in mind all speeds discussed are wired with either cat6a or cat7 connections

500Mb need a tech visit?

Why does having the 1Gb or the 500Mb service, REQUIRE a tech visit when I already have my own SB8200 Modem? Can't they not just push the config file out especially I had the 1 Gb before Downgraded to save some $ then for $10 upgraded? Its scheduled for Tuesday but still I think is kind of stupid time waister for all.

Like the subject says, I used to have a 50.81 IP for the longest time. Saturday morning while I was away my Internet stopped working. When I got home, my router was getting a 172.31.7 IP from DHCP. I'm on 1GB using a Technicolor TC4-4400AM. I've never had issues before. When I called tech support they reset my modem and when they looked at my account it for some reason said I had homeWiFi through Mediacom, which I have never had. They weren't able to help and now my cable modem keeps reseting in a loop. They say it is a signal issue and they are sending a tech out on Tuesday. Has anyone else seen this issue? Its almost like I'm sandboxed.

[IA] Tiling and terrible speed test and packet loss

Been having tiling on the TV for almost 3 years now off and on. Internet issues off and on since 1985. Maybe Mediacom needs to replace underground cable and other equipment instead of putting a bandage on the problem. Would anyone except these speeds as an example if your suppose to have up to 60 download? I have had techs out 100s of times and never once found a problem with my equipment it has always been an outside issue. Wish those issues would be fixed in our area already. Its insane it takes 30 seconds or more to even load this page. REDICULOUS! Mediacom can't expect to charge these prices with this type of service. Sure they send people but No one acutally resolves the underlying issue. Maybe for a short time it is fixed (SOMETIMES) but obviously there are area issues. I have lived in the area in the same house since 1985 and I have never seen UPDATES to the buried cable in ur neighborhoods. The drops to the house YES but the main lines I believe are in need of service. Grounding issues and more. I just Upgraded 2 days ago from the 200 package to the 1Gig I also purchased my own modem the Motorola MB8600 Docsis 3.1.Anyway I had MediacomChad provision my modem for me.I call ed Mediacom CSR to get the 1Gig package an she was like we have to send a Tech out plus there is a 29.99 charge..I was like I'm No lol I used to work for Mediacom so I still know a few techs.Anyway she created the Job Order for me I called one of my Tech buddies to Close the Job so the 1Gig would be activated everything worked as planned.I did not have a tech come out anyway my line from the pole is a straight shot to my router brand-new cable of coarse.Anyway I been checking my speed test an I'm hitting around 300 To 320 Down an around 60 Up coming off my router.So then I check off my laptop directly hooked to the modem an my speed are about the same they bounce up an down.I haven't seen anything over 350 one the Download..I will add the signal page of my router.Just wondering how the hell to get the speeds up higher..

I've not had any issues up until now. I normally float within the 950MB down and 50 upload. I have a Samsung GX-MC990CL gateway. Quad-Cities area here, wanted to see if anyone else has got the same issues??

IPV6 and Mikrotiks

Anyone else here using a Mikrotik Device? I've been having issues where after a few days I can't get out via IPv6, have to reboot the tik then release renew for IPv6. Was just checking to see if anyone else is encountering this.
