[MO] Once again, having issues with upload.

I am receiving a credit on my bill for the now 15 days my upload has been at unusable levels (1.00-4.00 at any given time, all the time). This has been occurring since August 8th and has made it impossible for me to livestream and I'm starting to get, understandably, a little annoyed. *Modem is a Netgear CM500 and router is Asus 450Mbps N Router. *Signal levels at 192.168.100.1 are above. *Current speed test is: *Line quality test is here: http://www.dslreports.com/testhistory/1957509/bfbb0 *I use Windows 10. *The problem was intermittent at the beginning and now it is constant. It occurs starting at around 7:30-8:30PM every night and continues on throughout the night and sometimes straight through into the next day. *I have Windows 10. *I have Webroot SecureAnywhere version 9.0.21.18 as my protection software. I had a tech come out a year ago. He replaced everything he could replace. Even checked on the outside of the building. That was last year. Things were great up until just recently.

Signal craps out when it rains

About a year ago, we started having a tv signal issue when it rained. At first, it was mostly just one tv, which uses a digital adapter, but this year the issue has gradually worsened. Two more tvs, that I'm aware of, also show the problem now, including one using one of the HD receiver boxes. Some channels remain ok, some become garbled, and some are lost completely. When the rain starts, the tv signal craps out, every time. I've checked the signal quality via the modem interface before and during rainfall, but there didn't appear to be a big change. The tvs say otherwise, though.

Hi all, Noticed my speeds and some connection issues with TV dropping signal. We did just have like 4 days of rain, heavy rain! My neighbor who is on the same ped as me was having the same signal errors that the Mediacom telephone tech saw too. CCR and CCER issues.

I am looking into this for a friend. They currently have Gig service but are getting less then 40 mb download and have also seen outages for hours at a time. I have attached a screenshot of what the modem stats look like. Does anything stand out. I have bee away from mediacom myself for a while so I don not remember what the numbers should be. Thanks!

[IA] Mediacom WiFi 360 and iPads / iPhones

We broke down and got WiFi 360 about a month ago since the base router is upstairs and WiFi was spotty. 360 is awesome for the basement Apple TV as it now has an Ethernet connection. That said, we’re having issues getting the iPads and ESPECIALLY the iPhones to connect to 360z. Anyone else having this issue? Know a fix?

Unwanted Sales Calls

Back in 2015 I posted to Mediacom on their forums (back when they had the good ones) that I wanted to be taken off whatever list they have for cold calls/sales calls. I know I've gotten a few, one for sure in 2017 because I still have the confirmation e-mail from the FCC when I submitted a complaint. I just got one today so I'm going to be submitting one to my state attorney general, but I'd also like to send one to the FCC, but I'm wondering if it should be to the FTC instead. Does anyone know which one of those two it should be sent to? Thanks.

Can barely get google to load. (ping that's dying is first hope beyond my cable modem). $110 a month for something that's BARELY usable. 4 or 5 on-site visits this year, no resolution.

Hello! Upgraded to the gig service a few weeks ago and loved it. We had a rainstorm on Friday and it has been horrible since. We had a tech out on Saturday and he said it was an area wide line noise issue and had a lineman out to look. It still isn't better so I called CS to get status and was told that the outside stuff is completed and need a tech back, but not until next week. Shouldn't there be a priority queue or something if you have already had someone out for the same issue?

[DVR] Pace RNG200N DVR Problem - Picture Freezes Up & Tiling

I've had this DVR for at least 7-8 years. Over the past month when playing a recorded program, the picture will freeze & also go blocky looking, then it may return to normal or just sit there like it's "paused". I've discovered that if you push the 15sec rewind/replay button, the DVR may play OK for 1-10 min with no problem, and it will play the part OK where it had just froze up. So it's basically no problem with signal reaching the DVR, but something in the processor chip/board. It's not the HDD because when you rewind back from the spot in the program where it froze, it will then play OK after a couple of attempts. So I rebooted the DVR last night thinking that may cure the problem, but it didn't. The DVR plays OK for about 30-45min, then goes into it's picture tiling/blocking & the freeze up. I then noticed tonight that when it's recording and your watching a recorded program at the same time, the fan on the left rear side of the DVR is not running. So I'll guess the DVR is getting to hot, which is causing the problem. And I'll assume the fan should be running all the time the DVR is on. Anybody else ever had this Problem?

I hate the way MC does business. Raised my 100/10 fee by 10.00 with no notice. That really sucks. 89.99 for just internet. When 5g gets here I don't care if i have to pay twice that just so my money doesn't go to MC. We have no other alternative here. MC has a monopoly.

Very Disappointed that Mediacom wouldn’t let Dawg Fans watch Game on ESPNews. Game was changed because of Weather with Florence. I called along with others to see about getting this Channel for today but was told I had to Purchase Sports Package for $7.99 a Month. Gezzz. People are without Power etc in path of this Weather. You cant exempt for One Game for Customers. The Rep was very Ugly. I already pay too much as it is for a 63 year old on a Budget.

Hi, After our last rain, I've noticed everything was loading slow and video was constantly buffering. Went to speedtest and a couple of other internet speed test sites and my upload was 11-14mb but download has been 1.3-1.4mb... This has been going on for the last few days, I've reset the modem/router a couple of times and rebooted everything connected, but I'm still right in the 1.3-1.4 download range (On a 50mb/s plan). Anything else I can do besides sit on hold with mediacom?

Question: Firmware Downgrade? I noticed my new Arris SB8200 I brought online has version: D31CM-PEREGRINE-1.0.1.0-GA-01-NOSH. My notes from setting up my Son's SB8200 last summer had D31CM-PEREGRINE-1.0.1.0-GA-04-NOSH as the current version. Any insight as to why the version was adjusted downward? Just curious.

Removing modem rental before starting service

I have ordered service from Mediacom and have attempted to remove the modem rental multiple times. I originally ordered from the site because there was a better deal and did not have an option to remove the modem rental. I called customer service and was told they would re-order my service without the modem rental. I received a confirmation email and the modem charge is still there. I would like to remove this before installation, which will be on the 29th. What are my options?

Very slow or no internet early mornings

Lately, especially this morning, no internet or takes a half hour to acquire a signal. Called Mediacom there isn’t an outage in this area. This has happened the last 3 mornings until about 8-9am.

My internet has been spotty, though mostly non-functioning, for the last two days. I see other posts as well but those seem to be resolved. Any reported ongoing issues in Des Moines? Hoping for a resolution soon.

Been having problems off and on over the weekend, packet loss of 30-40%. Was a problem Saturday, no problem Sunday, and back to the same problem this morning. I have two cable modems, one for internet and one for phone, and phone is working fine. Is this a known issue with the region, or specific to my house/neighborhood? I have a repair visit scheduled for a week from now :(

Hi All, I am currently an AT&T U-verse customer. I’m generally pretty happy with my service. However, an issue occurs every 6 months or so where a tech will accidentally clip the line that goes to my house when servicing the box down the street. This means I have to call tech support, run through the normal process of rebooting my modem, etc., and then they will schedule a tech visit. It can be a little frustrating as I have to take time off of work for this and be without internet until the tech can arrive. Also, the max package I can get is 45 mbps. I decided to research other options and it looks like Mediacom’s Gigabit service is available for my residence. The advertised speeds of up to 1 Gbps are pretty enticing. However I know that individuals, in my area, with Medicacom’s regular cable internet service has reoccurring issues requiring them to reboot their modem and/or consistently deal with half than advertised speeds. For those that currently have or have had Mediacom’s gigabit service, I have a few questions: 1.) I know the answer to this one will probably vary by service area, but are you generally happy with the product? Do you notice frequent outages or have to regularly reboot your modem? Should I expect the gigabit service to be anymore consistent than regular cable internet? 2.) What does the install look like? All of my utilities are underground. Will the tech have to dig up my yard? 3.) Are the promotions listed on Medicacom’s website generally the best they can do? They currently list the 1.0 Gbps package at a promo price of $79.99 a year, plus a $99+ install fee, and a $10 activation fee. I don’t see any bundles with TV, but not sure if I would want to go that route anyway. Also, does anyone know if the promotional deals require contracts? I’d hate to lock myself into a poor service. 4.) Are there any other factors I should be aware of when making this decision? Thanks in advance for your input!
