[FL] Hurricane damage
I know we had a hurricane ant to expect an outage but what’s going on in the SanDestin FL area. Everything is open and we had little damage. CenturyLink is up and working.
I call and all they say is they it’s down and we are working on it.
Define working and what’s being done. I’m thinking there is more here then they are letting know for no reason other then not wanting to support it.

Trying to watch the new Doctor Who season with TV Anywhere. This is listed in the line up as a TV Anywhere station but when signing into bccamerica.com Mediacom is not listed as one of the providers.

Hurricane communication
Thanks mediacom for sending me emails daily to let me know how the restoration process is comeing.
My area was rather lucky and did not even lose power. I’m in the dark when it comes to internet and this helps shed some light on it.
Please keep it up communication is key during times like this.

Terrible communication, about to switch
I live about 50 miles from where the eye hit in Florida, absolutely no damage until you drive at least 20 miles down highway 90. Yet, no Mediacom service up and running anywhere here. All I've gotten is the same generic bullshit when I try to ask for more information and when it'll be back up.

Just giving everyone an update.....still very poor/no service. I have called many times and they are supposedly "working" on it. Very frustrating not having internet.....lol, whats worse is they are still charging me and I haven't had but ONE day of uninterrupted service. 6 weeks now since installation date and about 15 tech calls and visits. Supervisors, techs, maintenance......what is going on people?!
I have signal readings for everyday. Sometimes multiple times a day. Just in case you are thinking I am here just trashing Mediacom. That is NOT want I want to do.

[IA] Issue with current IP range.
Hey guys,
Please stick with me, as I am not overly technical when it comes to this kind of stuff. I use google a lot which can often be wrong. So I had a friend stay over for a small period of time not long ago, and I noticed during his stay that some services slowly started dropping quality (becoming unusable). He told me when he left that he was banned on a lot of the stuff he tried using while he was here, and maybe that was the source of my issues. I am no longer able to sign into accounts from those places, or make new accounts (it shuts those down it seems the second I try to create them or sign into them).
I have heard back from one of them letting me know my 'Ip range' was banned on a date that falls within his period of stay.
Instead of waiting on support tickets for multiple different services, I started looking up how to just change my Ip. What I landed on was I needed to contact my ISP, but the live chat wasn't very helpful at all and they ended up resetting my modem in the middle of the chat which didn't fix the issue. Is there a way to be moved outside of the current IP range I am in through mediacom? I am here for options, as I didn't like reading that I would potentially have to switch ISP.

internet outage 66739
Internet service was intermittent all yesterday, and completely out today. Power cycled modem, no change.
Please do what you can on your end, then schedule an onsite tech.

[Cable HSI] Problems
I've been getting about half speed for a few weeks and my signals are out of whack. I have the 1 gig package.
I had to reboot or there would be more errors.

[Cable HSI] Connectivity Issues (High Correctables/Uncorrectables)
Hello all!
I am seeing extremely high counts of corrected/uncorrectables in my modem logs.
This issue has happened once before a few months back, and the fix was outside of my home. All I was told was that my local Mediacom office fixed the issue by performing "line maintenance".
Currently, I can power cycle my modem, and within in minutes have hundreds of thousands of errors across all 16 bonded channels.
All signals look great. And I have called the support line a few times, and they have told me the signal they can see at the time looked near perfect as well.
I am wondering if a neighbor up the stream is feeding noise back down into the line. I believe my house is at the end of the line.
I have a tech scheduled to come out this Thursday, but I fear he will only tell me there is nothing he can do and that the maintenance crew will have to come out and find the problem.
Does anyone know of way to help narrow down the search? Is it possible that overnight my modem started to fail? I have found some troubleshooting software out there, but most of it is geared towards ISPs so that they can monitor their services.
I am very proactive especially when it comes to tech and Internet connectivity. My entire house is practically ran off the Internet, so if it's out I get stir crazy.
And if by chance Chad from Mediacom sees this, I am more than willing to send you any information you need to help.

[IA] Bait and Switch
We are having problems with a service upgrade on our account . It shows we can go to 100MBPS 1000 Gigs/mo. for $10 extra.
When we sign up, we get a call from a representative saying it can't be completed because its a mistake.
If I am not mistaken, this seems like a bait and switch situation.
Is there anyone from Mediacom who can please help resolve this?

[RANT] Why no outage maps, dearth of information for Georgia
:( I am a Mediacom customer in Albany, GA. The eye of Michael went right over our city. We were blessed to get power late Sunday. Two years ago we had some really bad straight line winds and lost Cable for weeks. I kept getting stonewalled and finally went to DirecTV for my television. Unfortunately,because of sole source for residential high-speed internet we couldn't get ATT except for DSL... I would have waited if only they had communicated. I've worked Cable TV, I am a tech, I understand. But silence is deafening. Thankfully, I have a healthy 4G account.
What I want from Mediacom is two things. 1. An outage map showing where the know outages are. 2. A system map of my area so I can tell if they are lying to me.
If I know how the cable is routed, and I know where the power is and isn't then I'll know whether they are telling me the truth.
BTW Previously, it took six months to get the hard line replaced due to Squirrel Chew, every time it rained I lost signal, and all they wanted to do is have me take days off from work and wait for a tech to verify I great signal when the sun was shining!
Any company but Mediacom... Just give me a viable choice!

Can't access domain/email while on Mediacom network
At least all day, I can't access any of my emails or sites or even CPanel that are hosted on Lunarpages while I'm on my Mediacom network (I can access my main account page and that's it). If I go LTE, I can access all of them on my iPhone. But zilch on my computer/phone/iPad when they're on the Mediacom network; any of my three domains just say they aren't responding. I could swear there was a fix somewhere as it seems like this has happened before but I can't find it…
This could coincide with my having to change the outgoing mailserver to port 465 last night to be able to send any email from Mediacom. That shouldn't have had any effect on website access or my other email accounts for that matter since it was just the outgoing port for the mchsi account, but it's a bit too much of a coincidence to be unrelated…
Any ideas? I know they both end up on weird blacklists randomly, but my sites aren't spam, and it's my own email…

[IA] Mediacom search hijack
How and/or why when using 3rd party DNS at the router level and after opting out of mediacom’s web helper, are my 404 results still being directed to mediacom’s search helper?
This should NOT be possible unless mediacom is using deep packet inspection. This of which opens a totally different issue in regards to privacy and what information mediacom is collecting.

Owner of account has passed
I'm just looking for some helpful info for a friend of mine whose wife recently passed, the mediacom account was completely under the wife's name and just wondering what steps are needed to be taken to get everything transferred over to the husband's name? And if the change will affect any deals currently going on with the account as well as the email account.

Motorola MB8600
While officially (still?) not supported this modem seems to work with Mediacom 1Gbit service. I wanted to try it out and it seems to be stable, barely gets warm, provisioning took 2 min. Pages load just fine, speeds are as expected and I'm not seeing any jitter or latency issues. I like the modem GUI and the idea of showing info about config file down and up speeds. It came with 8600-6.1.1.13 firmware. The only issue so far is unusually slow modem internal pages. I'm talking 5-7 seconds to load any page, even spectrum analyzer only refreshes every 7 seconds or so. Otherwise normal usage, browsing, streaming, downloads on Steam had no issues at all. Not sure if this is just this unit or a common issue with these modems.

Confusing information from Mediacom Tech
So I am not able to get a connection to the internet of course I called text support got somebody in the states. I had already reset my modem he had me do it again same issue. Could not get any bonded channels. I asked him if there were others offline as well and he said yes there is he was going to report it as an outage. I waited 1 hour called back got somebody in Georgia who was a bit belligerent not really listening to what I had to say. He said I can't speak for the previous Tech. I told him I don't need you to speak for the previous Tech you're telling me there's not an area outage. He said no there's not. I did ask to speak to his supervisor by the name of Aaron. Aaron told me he was going to address the previous call and make sure the guy was better trained. He then scheduled a tech to come out but not until Thursday. Of course as a customer I'm sitting here wondering who is right and who was wrong. Is it an area outage or is there something wrong with my modem? It would be nice to get a Gulf Breeze Tech some of these guys don't deserve to be on the phone talking to customers. Imagine if I would have waited a couple of days and still had no internet only to find out it was not an area outage. Or is it?
