Just had our phone/video/internet service moved to a different house across town this afternoon. We did not introduce any new devices (routers, DVRs, etc.). Everything worked this morning at our old house. After the tech came and set up service at the new house we just have basic cable channels and no dial tone for our phone. We do have internet service. The tech had no interest in sticking around to make sure things worked and was rather snarky about it when I guaranteed a tech would need to come back out if it wasn’t working. Basically said he had worked for Mediacom for four years and clearly implied he knew what he was talking about and I didn’t have a clue. I own my Tivo and it has a cable card. When I got the Tivo earlier this year it took Mediacom a LONG time (a number of hours over several days) to figure out that my not receiving cable channels was a problem on their end (some very helpful woman at Mediacom whose name I don’t know used her helpful knowledge base to fix the problem while the tech was on the phone with her). Mediacom kept assuring me the problem was on Tivo’s end. Now that my Mediacom service has been moved to a different house across town I have the same problem (only get some of the basic channels) except now I have no phone as well. Mediacom said they wouldn’t send another tech out today and can’t get one here until Saturday.
